A truly ancient guardian, the Caucasian Ovcharka was forged in the rugged Caucasus Mountains over several millennial, living alongside their livestock wards and human masters while fending for themselves along ancient migration and trade routes. They are a true Working Dog with highly developed security instincts. Rare in the West, they were used extensively throughout the former Soviet Union (military, prison system, airports, commercial, residential, etc) and Europe for personal protection. They are masters of working independently without direct human supervision.
The Caucasian Ovcharka is a guard dog with no equal for their task. Instead of training our dogs to respond to preprogrammed triggers based on human body language, we train them to rely on their own genetic instincts to be alert for violent or criminal intent. Subtle changes in behavior, often undetectable to us - even changes in scent - preclude such behaviors.
We train our dogs’ ourselves along with the help of some of the most reputable guard dog trainers in the valley. Our dogs are not beaten or chained down to make them mean. We do not practice any type of behavior or training aligned with animal cruelty. Imagine an alarm system that is not easily inactivated, and interprets what it detects with a brain programmed by nature to read body language. Remember that people known to their victims perpetrate many violent crimes. People who are likely to be admitted into your premises, past your current detection system and then suddenly reveal their violent intent. That sudden change is easily detected and challenged by well-trained canine.
Guard dogs are dependable and become territorial of their posts. Unlike security guards, they do not call in sick or sleep on the job. Guard dogs are equal opportunity attackers.
